Puppy Toys

In New Zealand (NZ) we love puppies, they can be a lot of fun, but they can also be a lot of work. One of the most important things you need to do as a puppy owner is keep your pup physically and mentally stimulated. This can be difficult, especially when teething starts to cause discomfort. That's why we offer a range of puppy toys suitable for all NZ pups.

Are all toys suitable for puppies?

So where to start? Well as puppies grow, they start to teethe. This can be a painful process for some pups, and it can cause them to chew on anything they can get their teeth on - including your furniture! To help ease your pup's discomfort and keep them from destroying your home, it's important to provide them with teething toys. Teething toys are specifically designed to help pups through the teething process. They are often made of soft materials that are gentle on teeth and gums, and they can help to soothe your pup's discomfort.

Examples of teething toys include:

- teething rings
- teething bones
- soft plush toys (with and without stuffing)

Teething toys are different from chew bones as they are not meant to be eaten. Chew bones are designed for older dogs who need to chew on something to help keep their teeth clean and healthy. Puppies should not be given chew bones unless they are specifically designed for them.

In addition to teething toys, it's also important to provide your pup with toys that encourage engagement. Puppies are full of energy, and they need outlets for all that energy! Toys that encourage engagement include:

- puzzle toys
- treat dispensing toys
- fetch toys
- interactive tug of war toys

When choosing toys for your pup, it's important to consider their size, age, and energy level. You also want to make sure that the toy is durable and made of safe materials. Puppies are notorious for destroying everything they get their teeth on.
