High Value vs Low Value Treats

High value treats are treats that your dog really loves. These are usually high in fat or protein, and have a strong smell. Low value treats are less exciting for your dog, but can still be used to train them. These are usually lower in fat and protein, and have a weaker smell.

Using high value treats is a great way to get your dog's attention and keep them motivated. This is especially useful for new commands or difficult tasks. Low value treats are best for reinforcing already-learned behaviours.

Therefore it is important to try out different types of treats to see what works best for your dog. At Teddy's we offer a range of flavours including beef, chicken, lamb, salmon and pumpkin. There is also a selection of New Zealand made treats from brands such as Tu Meke Friend.
